Who Had Been The ‘Serial Stabber’ Terrorizing 3 States — And Just What Was He After?

Within the summer time of 2010, police in Flint, Michigan raced to create an finish to a number of brazen stabbings that left several men dead yet others seriously wounded.

Wilson survived his attack and shared valuable information with police. The teen described his attacker, who’d stopped to inquire about directions, like a white-colored man in the 20s or 30s who had been clean-shaven having a large build. Golden reviewed recent stabbing cases in Flint and located that there was 11 since May. Five had led to homicides, including David Motley, 31, Emmuel Mohammad, 59, and Darwin Marshall, 43.

This news dubbed the knife-wielding attacker the “serial stabber.” On August 11, the job pressure received a phone call from the Flint lady who believed she recognized the composite sketch like a man who’d labored together with her father inside a liquor store. The employee’s name: Elias Abuelazam, who’d developed in Israel. Investigators pulled his telephone number in the store’s worker records. A stabbing victim identified the photo of Abuelazam because the man who attacked him.

Abuelazam’s clothing in luggage that hadn’t made the flight from Louisville to Atlanta, however, provided information to police. Bloodstains on Abuelazam’s pants and footwear matched Arnold Minor’s DNA. Bloodstream on laces matched Frank Kellybrew’s DNA. 

Abuelazam was billed with three counts of first-degree murder and 6 counts of assault with attempted murder. “I believe he was targeting Black men,” stated David Leyton, Prosecutor, Genesee County, MI. “That’s my theory.” 

Prosecutors made the decision to test Abuelazam for that murder of Arnold Minor, their most powerful situation. The defendant’s lawyer used madness like a defense. 

In May 2012, the jury came back having a guilty verdict after deliberating for just one hour, based on an announcement from Leyton’s office. 

Abuelazam, now 45, was sentenced to existence without the risk of parole in June 2012.
