Laundrie is not recognized as a suspect within the situation and Taylor told Archiweekend.com that there isn’t any proof of a criminal offense at this time. 

Both Laundrie and Petito have been traveling across the nation inside a white-colored 2012 Ford Transit van they converted to a camper van. Mother and father since retrieved the van at the house of Laundrie’s parents, WTVT in Tampa Bay reports.

On August 19, mere days before her family last been told by her, Petito published an eight-minute video online documenting the couple’s journey. The recording, titled “Beginning Our Van Existence Journey,” shows the pair laughing, kissing, and doing cartwheels around the beach.

On Tuesday, Petito’s parents released an announcement pestering Laundrie to provide more details regarding their daughter’s possible location, NBC News reports.

“The Schmidt and Petito family are dealing with the worst moments of the lives,” the statement reads. “Their beautiful 22-year-old daughter is missing and also the one individual who are able to help find Gabby will not help. John Laundrie was going with Gabby within the Grand Teton-Yellowstone area. These were traveling together in Gabby’s 2021 Ford Transit van. This is when we feel Gabby was last seen.”

Laundrie’s Instagram is becoming flooded with comments, Fox News reports. Most are demanding to understand where his missing girlfriend is.

His attorney released an announcement Tuesday that reads, “on account from the Laundrie family, it’s our hope that the quest for Miss Petito is effective which Miss Petito is reunited together with her family.”

It procedes to state that “on the recommendation of counsel, the Laundrie household is remaining without anyone’s knowledge only at that juncture and can don’t have any further comment.”
