New Peacock Documentary Promises New Understanding Of The Gabby Petito Situation

The Gabby Petito saga continues to be, undoubtedly, among the greatest true crime installments of 2021. Within an approaching documentary special, Peacock tries to separate fiction from fact in Gabby’s existence and untimely dying. 

“The Murder of Gabby Petito: Truth, Lies and Social Media” will examine “Gabby’s existence with the curated lens she produced and immerses the viewer in the realm of social networking sleuthing which was essential to the situation,” based on Peacock.

The 22-year-old travel blogger disappeared at the begining of September during a car trip together with her boyfriend John Laundrie, starting off a nationwide search that attracted worldwide interest. Her family had reported her missing greater than a week after Laundrie, 23, left the couple’s mix-country trip and came back to his parents’ home in North Port, Florida without her. A couple of days later Laundrie, who had been indexed by police like a person of great interest in Petito’s disappearance, also disappeared.

Petito’s remains put together in Wyoming on Sept. 19 as well as an autopsy says she’d been strangled to dying, likely days before she was discovered. When investigators later found Laundrie’s body inside a Florida nature preserve in October following days-lengthy manhunt, they determined he died from the self-inflicted gunshot.

“The Murder of Gabby Petito: Truth, Lies and Social Networking,” created by ITN Productions, will feature Petito’s parents within their first documentary interview because they “reflect on the existence of the daughter, discussing childhood recollections including exclusive photos and details that people never understood before,” based on Peacock.

The show offers to provide a “fresh undertake the situation that captivated millions,” including interviews with journalists who covered the situation and social networking users “who crowdsourced time and uncovered new information and clues to assist police force.”

“In the TikToker who debunked false theories within the search, towards the YouTubers who recognized they’d filmed Gabby and Brian’s van purely by coincidence, the show leaves nothing unturned.”
