Murderer Suspect In New York Billed With Three Men’s Murders

A suspected murderer in New York is purported to have wiped out a minimum of three people following the body of the missing man was discovered in Virginia earlier this year.

John Mark Richardson, 53, was billed with numerous crimes regarding the the murders of three men between Feb and March, based on Greensboro’s Fox affiliate WGHP. To date, Richardson is charged with killing Michael Antown Hemphill, 46, Mark Anthony Gilbert Junior., 40, and James Devon Goolsby, 38, but government bodies continue to be investigating the potential of more victims.

The string of killings came onto authorities’ radar beginning on Jan. 25, when officials using the Greensboro Police Department taken care of immediately a shooting on Yanceyville Street. Based on police, Michael Hemphill was still being conscious when responders transported him to some local hospital having a “serious injuries.” The 911 caller indicated Hemphill was shot within the mind, WGHP reported.

Hemphill was a victim of his injuries on February. 1.

On March 10, government bodies taken care of immediately the 600 block of West Terrell Street after Mark Gilbert Junior. was assaulted around 1:38 a.m., based on CBS affiliate WFMY. WGHP reported Gilbert was discovered beaten near a dumpster before his assailant fled in Gilbert’s vehicle using the victim’s wallet and make contact with.

He later died from his injuries.

“Anyone who understood him [understood] he would be a sweetheart. I did previously call him up a huge stuffed animal,” Gilbert’s ex-wife, Lisa Gilbert, told WFMY. “These kids have to be affected by never seeing their father again. I simply wanna know why.”

Individually, Richardson was arrested after police acquired searching warrant for his Byers Road home on April 5, ongoing their searches into the very next day. Officials found several weapons in the residence, including firearms, knives, along with a hatchet.

Jail records show Richardson was booked in to the Guilford City Jail on numerous weapons charges, including legal manufacturing or having ammunition of mass destruction.

On April 8, Greensboro Police announced the arrest of 38-year-old Jonathan Murphy regarding the Hemphill’s shooting dying along with other firearms charges. But, based on court public records acquired by WGHP, texts between Murphy and Richardson allegedly linked Richardson to Hemphill’s murder.

Richardson was formally billed with Hemphill’s murder on April 13.

Records show Murphy continues to be in prison and being held without bond for his charges.

The situation acquired traction when investigators found that your body of the missing Greensboro man, James Goolsby, may have switched in Henry County, Virginia. Based on Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers, Goolsby was last seen near Summit Avenue in Greensboro on March 25, just two days after Gilbert’s murder.

Captain Milford J. Harris from the Greensboro Police Department emailed an announcement to Archiweekend.com. 

“On March 28, 2022, James Devon Goolsby was reported like a missing person towards the Greensboro Police Department,” stated Harris. “Information was collected through the analysis that brought detectives to suspect foul play. Through the path of the analysis, an individual of great interest in Goolsby’s disappearance was recognized as John Richardson.”

Goolsby’s mutilated body was discovered on April 14 after it “had been dumped from George Taylor Road,” Henry County Sheriff Lane Perry told the Martinsville Bulletin. WGHP reported his body was dumped off a bridge in to the Mayo River in Spencer, Virginia, near the New York border.

On April 19, Richardson was formally billed with Gilbert’s murder, based on the police statement.

Richardson was billed with Goolsby’s dying on Friday.

“None of individuals men deserved that,” Lisa Gilbert ongoing. “At this time, I’m feeling like he’s a murderer.”

A potential motive within the killings is not disclosed.

Condition prison records show Richardson spent nine years imprisonment for robbery having a harmful weapon. Until this season, he’d no legal convictions since his 2003 release.

Archiweekend.com arrived at to the Greensboro Police Department, but calls weren’t immediately came back. The Guilford County District Attorney’s Office stated they couldn’t discuss the situation.
