Mother Charged With Fatally Stabbing Children After Bystander Restrained Her

A Colorado lady was arrested after witnesses claimed she stabbed her adolescent children to dying, states police.

Claudia Camacho-Duenas, 37, was billed with two counts of first-degree murder for that 12 ,. 30 stabbing of of her kids, based on a pr release using the Glenwood Springs Police Department. Police taken care of immediately a phone call made around 2:34 p.m. reporting a stabbing happening in an apartment complex. When responders showed up, they found Duenas’ biological children, ages 11 and 18, struggling with stab wounds.

Police withheld what they are called and sexes from the victims.

“Officers showed up rapidly to locate two victims struggling with significant injuries,” stated police. “Life-saving measures were provided and also the victims were transported for an area hospital.”

The kids were pronounced dead in the hospital.

Officials who showed up in the crime scene concurrently discovered that a 3rd party had restrained Duenas, which person along with other bystanders named her because the person accountable for the violent assaults, stated police.

Investigators believe the “initial assault” around the children started inside among the apartments before Duenas chased one in to the parking area. 

Duenas was arrested without incident and booked in to the Garfield City Jail. Information seeking not one other suspects within this situation.

“Upon completion, the analysis is going to be given to the District Attorney’s Office for review for appropriate disposition,” stated police. “At this time, we’ve provided probable cause statements to detail the conditions for that arrest of Ms. Duenas.”

It’s unclear exactly what the motive behind the killings was.

“This kind of violence is uncharacteristic for the community, and our first responders (Police/Fire) are personally impacted by the wedding,” police ongoing. “We recognize this affects everybody within our community, so we mourn this inexplicable lack of existence of the very youthful people.”

Glenwood Springs Police directed all further media queries towards the District Attorney’s Office, who told Archiweekend.com they’d no more information for release. 

“We are extremely saddened to report this tragedy within our community,” Police Chief Frederick Deras told Aspen Daily News. “Particularly inside a traditional duration of celebration during christmas.”
