Michael Politte, Charged Of Mother’s Murder By Discredited Evidence, Released On Parole

Michael Politte left of prison Friday, paroled after nearly 2 decades in jail for any crime he states he did not commit — the killing of his mother.

Politte, now 38, was launched in the Jefferson City Correctional Center, two several weeks after he was granted parole. He was welcomed by hugs from relatives and buddies.

“I i never thought this very day will come,” Politte stated. “I aren’t seeing any barbed wire or any wire. It’s all regulated open. It smells different, looks different. It’s amazing.”

Rita Politte died inside a fire in the home within the eastern Missouri capital of scotland- Hopewell in 1998. Michael, 14 at that time, along with a friend were also in your home but were able to escape the blaze. Politte’s lawyers stated the boys were awakened by smoke and scrambled to flee, before Politte found the burning body of his mother.

A petition by Politte’s attorneys this past year faulted investigators who determined the teen had gasoline on his footwear, that was the only real physical evidence they stated linked him towards the crime. A buddy, Mike Glore, was among individuals greeting Politte. He introduced along two small bikes, much like individuals they accustomed to ride together before Politte was sent away. The boys jumped around the bikes and rode from the prison parking area together.
