Maryland Lady Allegedly Set Fire To Her Home Then Viewed Blaze From Lawn Chair

A Maryland lady is facing attempted murder and arson charges after allegedly setting fire to her house a week ago with someone still inside. She then generate a lawn chair in her own yard and viewed the house burn. 

Gail Metwally, 47, set fire to her Elkton home around the mid-day of April 29, government bodies stated. Videos shot by neighbors show the lady relaxing in a suspension chair and watching the blaze burn her home. Neighbors heard screams in the basement and helped a lady escape, based on police.

As many as four people resided in your home and 2 weren’t home at that time, based on Local 12.

“Witnesses reported observing a lady…setting multiple fires inside the home after which establishing a seat around the front lawn, where she viewed the fireplace engulf the house,” the statement on her behalf arrest reads. “Following a couple of minutes, Metwally walked from the scene. As the home was burning, witnesses heard an occupant inside a basement window yelling for help. Bystanders securely aided her the window.”

Officials using the Cecil County sheriff’s office soon found Metwally in the region. She was arrested and transported towards the Maryland Condition Police North East Barrack, police stated. 

Meltway continues to be billed with third and fourth-degree attempted murder, first-degree arson, and first-degree assault, in addition to two counts of first-degree malicious burning, two counts of malicious destruction of property, and 2 counts of reckless endangerment.

A motive for that arson wasn’t immediately obvious. It is also unclear if she’s joined a plea or maybe she’s a lawyer that can speak on her behalf account
