Man Pleads Guilty In Beverly Hillsides Home Invasion Slaying Of Jacqueline Avant

A 30-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday towards the murder of philanthropist Jacqueline Avant, the wife of legendary music executive Clarence Avant.

Aariel Maynor pleaded guilty within the fatal shooting of Avant and also the attempted murder of her security officer at her Beverly Hillsides home in December, La County prosecutors stated.

Maynor also pleaded guilty to having a gun with a felon and 2 counts of burglary.

He’s scheduled to become sentenced on March 30 and is sentenced to as much as 170 years imprisonment, prosecutors stated.

“This crime is constantly on the shock the conscience,” Da George Gascón stated inside a statement. “Mrs. Avant’s dying would be a tragic loss gone through by our entire community.”

Gascón stated Maynor is going to be ineligible for seniors parole.

Police were known as towards the Avants’ home in early stages the morning of 12 ,. 1 and located Jacqueline Avant, 81, having a gunshot wound. She was come to a healthcare facility but didn’t survive.

The Avants were married for 54 many had two children, Alexander Du Bois Avant and Nicole Avant, a movie producer and former U.S. ambassador towards the Bahamas who’s married to Netflix co-Chief executive officer and Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.

Jacqueline Avant’s charitable work and private connections made her a broadly beloved figure. After her dying, tributes to her originated from former President Bill Clinton, Earvin “Magic” Manley and Quincy Johnson, who stated “The heaviness of me today is unlike every other that i’ve ever experienced.”
