Man Indicted For Allegedly Shooting His 5-Year-Old Neighbor In Mind, Eventually After Discussing Dinner Together With His Family

A New York man accused of fatally shooting his 5-year-old neighbor within the mind this past year has been formally indicted on the murder charge for that boy’s dying.

A great jury indicted Darius Nathaniel Sessoms, 26, on one count of first-degree murder on Wednesday for that August 2020 dying of Cannon Hinnant, Durham outlet WTVD reports. 

Sessoms ran as much as Hinnant because the boy was riding his bicycle and having fun with his two siblings outdoors his home in Wilson, New York, based on government bodies, allegedly shooting him within the mind before pacing around using the murder weapon. Then he fled the scene.

He was arrested in Goldsboro, that is located a bit more than 25 miles from Wilson, that very same day, the Wilson Police Department mentioned this past year. He’s been jailed since without bond while facing the very first-degree murder charge.

Sessoms had known the victim’s family for eight years. Only one previous day the shooting, Sessoms had dinner at the Hinnant home. Also, he shared a beer using the child’s father on the porch. 

“There wasn’t anything between me and him, any bad bloodstream whatsoever, for him to possess a reason to get this done,” Austin Hinnant, Cannon’s father, told WRAL this past year.

Per month following the shooting, Sessoms’ girlfriend Aolani Takemi Marie Pettit, 22, was billed with legal accessory afterwards for allegedly supplying him with transportation so he might get from Wilson to Goldsboro where he was arrested.

The slain child was noted for his big smile.

“Cannon was the kind of kid which was always polite, type of relaxed, but he would be a beautiful little kid,” his godfather Merrill Race stated at his funeral, WTVD reported this past year.
