Man Billed With Murdering Texas Nurse Discovered In Garage By Ex-Husband, Children

A Texas man is under arrest days following a lady was discovered dead in her own garage by her ex-husband and kids.

Jacob Otis Cavanaugh, 40, was arrested on Tuesday for that murder of Carol Vines, 41, of Splendora, based on the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say Cavanaugh is at rapport using the victim, who had been found shot to dying by her family members on March 16 at her White-colored Oak Lane home.

“Cavanaugh was billed using the murder of Carol Vines, that he’d rapport, when physical evidence found throughout the analysis, and statements made after her murder implicated him because the shooter,” the sheriff’s office mentioned.

Deputies taken care of immediately a welfare check at Vines’ residence around 5:00 p.m. when Vines’ ex-husband alerted government bodies towards the grisly discovery. Based on NBC affiliate KPRC-TV, their kids, aged 8 and 12, also discovered their mother’s dead body when their father visited drop them off.

People from the tight-knit community voiced fears there would be a killer around the loose before deputies billed Cavanaugh using the murder.

“It’s very frightening,” stated neighbor Jason Blank. “I mean, we’ve didn’t have anything like this take place in this neighborhood so, very frightening.”

Jason Blank told KPRC-TV he was employed in his garage as he observed Vines’ two children running using their house, crying for his or her mother.

“Then the fireplace department and ambulance demonstrated up, and lots of police,” stated Blank. “They have there been for hrs, investigating.”

Vines would be a rn who had been employed in the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

“I’m sad. My daughter is dead,” Vines’ father told the neighborhood outlet. “Two grandkids with no mother. I do not understand what to state. It’s a dreadful feeling.”

Government bodies initially placed Cavanaugh under arrest for any robbery that required put on March 15, the sheriff’s office mentioned. Jail records show there is a warrant out for his arrest as he was booked in to the Montgomery City Jail on March 16 and held on $100,000 bond.

Detectives using the sheriff’s office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit added murder charges , revoking Cavanaugh’s bond.

Court public records show Cavanaugh has already established several criminal charges against him dating back 1998, together with a 2009 domestic violence assault situation, drug possession, burglary of the vehicle, illegal weapon possession, evading arrest, along with other misdemeanors. Exactly the same records show he’s also referred to as “Ace” and listed his residence in Splendora through the years.

“We still request the city come along once we support and pray for that Vines family,” the sheriff’s office mentioned.

It’s unclear if Cavanaugh has joined a plea. Demands towards the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office weren’t immediately came back.
