Based on her account, Laundrie had backed the van up right into a makeshift parking place.

“It wasn’t really parked inside a designated place,” she stated on TikTok. “The Spread Creek area is a lot of designated camping spots and you aren’t designed to camp outdoors individuals designated spots which van wasn’t inside a real place and so i figured they’d get booted through the people who patrol the region.”

She stated the “weirdest part about it” was that there wasn’t any sign that anybody was really camping within the van.

“Usually, small van individuals have their doorways open, they’re outdoors, there is a hammock, something, but we missed any indications of actual existence in the van,” she stated.

Schultz reported the sighting towards the FBI a week ago but stated she couldn’t confirm without a doubt that it absolutely was the van Laundrie and Petito have been driving until she saw another video published online Sunday morning that demonstrated the van parked in nearly exactly the same place as she’d seen it.

Schultz stated an FBI agent known as her Sunday before officials announced they’d discovered Petito’s remains and informed her that “you guys are the type that actually tipped us off right place.”

The FBI declined to verify the account towards the paper.

“We’re triumphant—we were right so we brought them within the right direction,” Schultz stated of the tip. “But then, obviously, it isn’t something you love to be right about. It’s been emotionally exhausting without a doubt.”
