Lady Allegedly Kills Husband, Flees To Mexico Where She’s Shot By Authorities 

While an alleged killer went to the border of Mexico following the murder of her husband, she didn’t exactly escape.

Jacob Ledward, 24, was murdered in May in Odessa, Texas his body was discovered after police conducted a welfare check up on him, the Midland Reporter-Telegram reported in May. The facts of his dying are unclear. 

Right after Ledward’s body was discovered, police had their eyes on his wife Clara Ledward, 29, like a potential suspect. Just days after Jacob’s body was discovered, the Odessa Police announced that they was wanted for murder. But she wasn’t around to manage charges.

“Early in to the analysis, the Odessa Police Department grew to become aware to the fact that Ms. Ledward fled to Mexico,” police noted inside a Friday pr release. “Our partners using the FBI aided by issuing an Illegal Flight to prevent Prosecution arrest warrant to ensure that us to utilize the federal government of Mexico in her own apprehension.”

On Thursday, Mexican government bodies in Ojinaga, Chihuahua located her and arrested her. The arrest wasn’t without incident. 

“During her arrest, Clara Ledward sustained non-existence-threatening gunshot wounds,” police condition. Information on what brought towards the shooting weren’t obvious.

Clara was extradited to Texas where she received health care on her gunshot wounds. She’s likely to be formally indicted on first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence charges. It isn’t obvious if she’s a lawyer.

Her late husband’s family members have expressed some respite following her arrest.“We his family give all praise and due to God on her capture in addition to all individuals who’ve been involved with which makes it happen,” they stated inside a statement acquired by local outlet KLST-TV. “This is only the foundation getting ‘Justice for Jacob.’”
