Family Wants Answers After Body Of Los Angeles Model Dumped On Hospital Sidewalk

A Los Angeles-based model wanted a night of fun out with friends last weekend; it ended in tragedy.

The body of Christy Giles, 24, was dumped on the sidewalk outside of Southern California Hospital in Culver City on Saturday night around 5:00 p.m PT. Two hours later, her friend, interior designer Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, 26, was left at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in West L.A., according to KABC. Cabrales-Arzola reportedly remains on life support.

Giles and Cabrales-Arzola — who had just moved to Los Angeles from Mexico — were at a warehouse party on Friday evening when Cabrales-Arzola apparently met a guy, and they were going to an afterparty in the Hollywood Hills, according to a friend that went home early but spoke to KTLA.

Giles’s husband, Jan Cilliers, says that something seems to have gone wrong that night, when he was visiting his father in San Francisco.

“I’ve got all the messages that she exchanged with anybody else that night and she was texting Marcela, the girl that she was with, at 5:30 [a.m.] saying ‘let’s get out of here’ with the wide eye emoji,” Cilliers told KABC.

Cilliers, who says he reviewed all the messages his wife exchanged via her iCloud account, told the station that she didn’t send any messages after that. He and his wife always shared their locations with one another, and the last one she shared was at an apartment building in West L.A.

Around 12 hours after the test message to Cabrales-Arzola, Cilliers said, there is a video of a car with no license plates and three masked men dumping his wife’s body on the sidewalk; the same car carrying only two men, he said, dropped Cabrales-Arzola off outside the other hospital.

“Marcela’s toxicology report came back, and I guess they found heroin in her system, which is nothing that either of those girls would ever do, not voluntarily,” he told KABC.

He told KTLA that heroin was also found in his wife’s system.

KABC reported that a preliminary investigation by LAPD determined Giles’ death was a possible overdose turned fatal, but Cilliers said that’s impossible.

A PIO officer with LAPD told Archiweekend.com that this is an ongoing investigation and there are no new developments. He would not confirm the KABC report.

Cillers, meanwhile, told KTLA that he has been told who the women were with that night. People have been reaching out to him and Giles’ best friend to share their own bad experiences with the same men.

The station reported that the coroner’s office expects to have some answers about what caused Giles’s death soon.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover funeral costs for Giles and to investigate the cases. More than $85,000 has been raised.

“People share these amazing videos that they have with her, and it just brings back her energy, and I know I’ll never get to see her or kiss her or touch her again, and it’s just so heartbreaking,” an emotional Cilliers told KABC.
