Family Annihilator Anthony Todt Appeals Conviction And Existence Sentence

Anthony Todt has appealed his conviction and existence sentence for killing his family.

Earlier this year, a jury found Anthony, 46, responsible for four counts of first-degree murder and something count of animal cruelty for that murders of his wife Megan, 42, as well as their children Alek, 13, Tyler, 11, and Zoe, 4, with their pet dog, Breezy. Circuit Judge Keith Carsten then gave the previous physical counselor four existence sentences without the potential of parole, whilst calling him a “destroyer of worlds”  for that 2019 murders within the family’s home Celebration, Florida home.

Todt has appealed that conviction and sentence towards the Fifth District Court, Fox 35 in Orlando reports. The appeal was filed on April 22, somewhat more than a week following the former physical therapist’s conviction and sentence, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

“This would be a personal catastrophe in everybody’s existence within my family, including myself,” Todt stated in the court following victim impact statements. He emphasized, “I maintain my innocence.”

While court public records reveal that the appeal continues to be filed, the facts from the appeal aren’t obvious. Todt’s attorney, Alesha Cruz, hasn’t immediately taken care of immediately Archiweekend.com’s request comment.

“This certainly feels just a little frightening,” Christina Gerrity, whose 12-year-old boy was buddies with Alek and Tyler Todt, told the Sentinel. She stated her child has battled to process the killings which there is some respite when Anthony Todt was charged.

Kirsten Lewis, a childhood friend of Megan Todt, told the Orlando Sentinel that they wasn’t surprised to listen to that Anthony Todt is appealing.

“It helped me angry he was turning everything on Megan and she or he couldn’t defend herself,” she reflected around the trial. “Also I had been frustrated using the prosecution simply because they didn’t call any character witnesses. I felt like her voice was completely strangled.”

Throughout the trial, jurors heard how Anthony Todt told investigators that he’d designed a dying pact together with his wife over fears of the apocalypse. The jurors first viewed videotaped confessions taken following the murders, as he told investigators he wiped out his entire family together with his wife’s support. However, he required the stand and attempted to shift the culprit, saying it had been his wife who wiped out their kids.

Beginning Barden, whose daughter would be a patient at Anthony and Megan Todt’s Family Physical Rehabilitation office in Colchester, Connecticut told the Sentinel that they was glad he was appealing his conviction. She believes he didn’t get a fair trial which the prosecutor “didn’t let Tony answer or finish a sentence.”

Family Physical Rehabilitation was raided per month prior to the murders and Anthony Todt allegedly accepted to falsely billing State medicaid programs, CNN reported. An eviction notice had also lately been filed inside a Florida court for that home in which the physiques put together, according to NBC Connecticut. He had been under analysis through the FBI and agents using the U.S. Department of Health insurance and Human Services for healthcare fraud when his family was discovered dead.
