A Boston bus driver was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a passenger around the bus he was operating a week ago, officials stated.
Ali Ennab, 45, was billed with kidnapping, assault to rape, and indecent assault and battery after he attacked a lady aboard his bus, based on the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Ennab allegedly selected in the woman from a bus stay in its historic East Boston neighborhood of Orient Heights on April 24 at approximately 7:20 p.m. The unknown passenger missed her stop while speaking on her behalf mobile phone.
The passenger contacted Ennab, who does not speak British, and used a Google translator application to inquire about a trip to Orient Heights. Rather, Ennab allegedly stopped near a seaside in Winthrop, Massachusetts, a little city around the Boston Harbor. The lady then grew to become “nervous,” prosecutors stated, after realizing she was alone remaining around the bus.
Ennab switched public transit off after which started making sexual advances around the lady, according Suffolk County Assistant Da Amelia Singh.
“[Ennab] sitting near the victim and set his arm round her,” based on an announcement in the district attorney’s office. “He then pulled her nearer to him and kissed her oral cavity. The defendant told the lady he might get her a eco-friendly card. She responded that they includes a husband and doesn’t require a eco-friendly card, on the other hand requested him to spread out the doorways because she desired to leave public transit.”
Ennab, however, declined the woman’s pleas, prosecutors stated. After asking her on her telephone number, he allegedly locked her around the bus.
“He then started eating his dinner and declined to spread out the doorways to allow her from the bus,” the statement added.
Public transit driver then allegedly “lunged” in the lady, tore her mask off, kissed, and molested her, despite her pleading him “no” multiple occasions.
“Me, I’m boyfriend for you personally, it’s okay,” he allegedly informed her, based on audio from the incident, that the lady documented on her phone.
Whenever a bystander walked past public transit, Ennab opened up its door, prosecutor stated, allowing the lady to flee.
The bus’ surveillance cameras also taken the alleged assault.
“To condition the apparent: A lady will be able to ride an open bus without anxiety about kidnap and sexual assault,” Suffolk County Da Rachael Rollins stated. “Women, much like everybody, have the authority to ‘t be harassed, violated, injured, or objectified. When I have stated, fathers have to start talking with their sons, and men have to tell their siblings, buddies and colleagues in regards to a new vision of maleness where males are trying to finish violence against ladies and women. The allegations outlined within this situation are deeply disturbing.”
Ennab works for Paul Revere Transportation LLC like a contract driver for that Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. The 45-year-old driver has been frozen indefinitely, a spokesperson for the organization stated.
“Paul Revere was shaken to discover the allegations against an on-duty operator which were reported on Saturday, April 24th,” Paul Revere Transportation LLC stated inside a statement delivered to Archiweekend.com. “Our hearts visit the alleged victim within this matter.”
Ennab was hired through the bus company on March 16, 2020. The motive force labored two shifts for Paul Revere Transportation this past year prior to being furloughed because of the coronavirus pandemic. He came back to operate in October 2020 on the agreement for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. The organization stated they hadn’t received any prior complaints about Ennab.
Ennab was arraigned on April 27. His next scheduled court appearance is May 25. His bail was set at $10,000. The court granted prosecutors’ request to stop Ennab from working at any transportation agency, pending trial. The Revere man’s passport was revoked, too, and that he must undergo Gps navigation monitoring.
Ennab’s defense attorney Ross Schreiber didn’t immediately react to Archiweekend.com’s request discuss the allegations on Friday.
