A Maryland man was arrested and extradited to Delaware following the remains of the missing lady were retrieved outside of the home in Henderson, Maryland.
Delaware Condition Police released inside a statement the body was recognized as Jennifer Leyanna, 41, who had been reported missing in November 2020.
Leyanna was last observed in the Hartly section of Delaware on October 6, 2020, based on police. Condition police conducted many follow-ups, interviews and received various tips about the location of Leyanna, based on the pr release.
The final time Leyenna’s buddies or family been told by her, was October 9, 2020, when she spoke to her mother on the telephone “It didn’t click there was anything wrong, usually she’ll say take proper care of Natalie however this time she stated mother please take proper care of my little girl,” Jennifer’s mother told Delaware’s ABC 47.`
Investigators identified Leonard “Buddy” Church, 41, of Henderson, MD — who had been arrested on February 16, for unrelated charges — like a suspect in her own murder. Court papers reveal that Church’s address is on a single road because the address in which the body is discovered.
Church was extradited on Monday from Caroline County Detention Center in Maryland to Delaware and it was billed with first-degree murder. Church has been held on the $two million bond.
Church’s public record information show past criminal charges including thievery, drug possession and trespassing. The docket information from February 16, includes multiple charges of aquiring a gun having a legal conviction.
