After Allegedly Stalking Her Pastor, Lady Admits She Murdered Friend Years Back

Clara Rector credited her Christian belief for giving her the force to overcome substance abuse.

“He’s lounging face lower, however, there’s bloodstream around the carpet and stuff too, around his face area. Like, you realize, he’s been bleeding from his mind,” Norton is heard telling the 911 dispatcher on tapes from the call acquired by “Snapped.”

“I walked to your body and at that time I saw that his shirt was drenched with bloodstream. There is even the stiffening from the body. He was clearly laid there for a while,” Camdenton Police Chief Shaun Beauchamp told producers.

Another friend, Patricia Strouse, told investigators Hope had lately been visiting a married lady named Clara Rector. Her husband, Jason, knew concerning the relationship and didn’t enjoy it.  

“Tom explained only a couple of days before he was wiped out that Jason had designed a threat for him to steer clear of Clara or he’d be sorry,” Strouse told producers.

Clara was created in 1976 in California and like Hope, have been taken off a structural home growing up. She was later adopted and moved together with her new family towards the Lake from the Ozarks. 

At 19, Clara married, but her first husband died inside a vehicle accident right after she learned she was pregnant. As a direct consequence of his dying, she started using drugs and finally married Jason Rector, that she’d two children. Jason and Clara were regular drug users, but Jason ultimately got sober, while Clara still battled with addiction.  

In Tommy Hope, Clara found somebody that could connect with what she’d experienced along with a willing drug buddy. She’d leave Jason and relocate with Hope before you go to rehab in 2003 and reconciling together with her husband. 

Clara accepted to investigators that they hadn’t had the ability to maintain her sobriety. Behind Jason’s back, she’d sneak off and away to do drugs with Hope.

Then, in April 2013, then-Camden County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Scott Hines was known as to Camdenton Bible Baptist Church. Pastor Jerry Sousley told Hines he had been stalked with a fellow congregant named Clara Rector. 

Sousley claimed Clara have been delivering him messages “regarding inappropriate matters of the sexual nature,” based on the Might Star. These incorporated messages left on his vehicle car windows along with a notebook she left him by which she detailed her sexual fantasies about him. 

After rebuffing her advances, Clara lashed out. “She stated, ‘Jerry, should you tell what the law states what you understand me, I’ll destroy you. I’ll effing destroy you,'” Sousley is viewed telling detectives inside a videotaped statement acquired by “Snapped.”

Clara was talking about a previous counseling session using the pastor where she accepted killing a guy. Sousley grew to become worried about the security of themself and the family.

Sousley implored Clara to visit law enforcement and admit what had happened but she declined. 

  On April 21, 2013, Clara was taken into child custody and billed with harassment and stalking, based on the Chillicothe News.

Clara and Jason Rector were arrested on April 24, 2013, nine many years to your day of Tommy Hope’s murder. Clara was billed with first-degree murder and armed criminal action while Jason was billed with legal tampering with physical evidence, Columbia, Missouri ABC-affiliate KMIZ reported at that time.

The costs against Jason Rector were ultimately dropped because the time limit had go out in it.  

Clara Rector was sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment on November 10, 2014, based on local newspaper the Lake Sun Readers. She’s first qualified for parole in The month of january 2024, when she’ll be 47 years of age.
